This project represents my dedication to research, my understanding of healthy and sustainable material specification in accordance with LEED and WELL standards, and my high level of craft and attention to detail.
Each student in the course was assigned a U.S. city in a different climate zone to research and select materials for a children’s hospital emergency waiting area. We were then tasked with creating a materials ‘bento box’ to showcase our research, biophilic pattern explorations, and material selections, along with a corresponding matrix.
The design and construction of the box were left to the individual; however, my final project was selected as an example for future courses and set a new standard for the expected level of craftsmanship.
